The Hustler publisher Bob turned into "Furry Lint" in a three-hour audio play, Who's Forgotten Furry Lint? Shot and paralyzed in 1978, Flynt sank his fortune into The Rebel, a magazine meant to compete with Time and to reopen the JFK assassination, and was to make Mae Brussell its editor. Bob's play makes him the type of the individual who "rises up out of the discarnate mob" only to be "brushed off the fabric" of society — and the Tech Body, later in the dialogue, borrows the coinage "furry lint" as its name for the sordid "base reality" that can no longer be set aside.
